iCloud Drive Sharing Suspended on iPhone/iPad - Why?

Hello. I recently noticed that the files in ReunionTouch on my iPhone and iPad were not syncing with the files on my Mac. From the manual, I learned that deleting a person from the clipboard could lead to this, so fair enough - I had done that recently. I reset sharing.

But the problem persists, even through simply adding new people, or editing some text in notes, or not making any changes at all. When I manually reset sharing in Reunion, and open the newly shared file in ReunionTouch, everything is up to date and synced at that moment. But when I check sharing status in ReunionTouch, I see that sharing is suspended (message in red letters at the top of the screen), and I need to reset sharing (again) for any new edits to sync to ReunionTouch.

It seems that sharing is being repeatedly suspended immediately after an initial sync upon resetting sharing, and is not being triggered for any of the 10 reasons listed in the manual.

I am using iCloud Drive, and all of my versions are up-to-date. What could be causing this problem?

    Thanks for any help,
    Peter Sherman

Please share a screen shot of what you see in the Sharing Status panels in both ReunionTouch and in Reunion 14 on your Mac. Information about how to do so can be found near the bottom of this web page...

My hope is something in both of those panels will be helpful in moving forward with a suggestion on how to resolve this issue.

Deb, thank you. Here are screenshots from Reunion and ReunionTouch (from my iPhone) showing the Sharing Status screens. Just to confirm, I am using the latest versions/builds of both R and RT, and the folder Genealogy, which encloses the Reunion Files folder, is in my iCloud Drive.

This is a more complete view of the Sharing Status window in Reunion on my Mac.

Please confirm "Remote Sharing..." is off. (I think it is already off.) To do this, click on the "Remote Sharing..." button in the Sharing Status window in Reunion 14 on your Mac. If Remote Sharing is currently on, turn it off. Then, delete the family file from ReunionTouch and download it again.

Also, try deleting ReunionTouch app from your iPhone and re-downloading it. I.e., press/hold your finger on the ReunionTouch app until you see it wiggle. Then, tap the "x" to delete it. Afterward, open the App Store and search for "reuniontouch." This should be a free download for you since it was already purchased. You may or may not need to reconnect ReunionTouch to iCloud Drive.

If problems continue, try deleting the family file from ReunionTouch and temporarily moving the family file out of iCloud Drive (i.e., perhaps directly into your Users / peter folder). After iCloud Drive finishes syncing, move it back into iCloud Drive. (This is just to make sure iCloud Drive is doing what it should be doing.)

I hope you find something helpful here. However, if problems continue, let us know what happened when try the suggestions above. Also, it may be helpful to know what macOS is running on your Mac and what iOS is running on your iPhone.

          Thanks

Thanks for these suggestions, Deb. Remote sharing was correctly turned off already. I deleted and reinstalled the Reunion Database 14 file and, so far (having made a few minor edits to this file on my Mac), sharing seems to be working - the edits do appear in the file when I open it in ReunionTouch on my iPhone.

I'll sit tight for now. If the problem resurfaces, I can apply your additional suggestions, and if none of those solves the problem, I'll certainly get back in touch. But, fingers crossed, it looks like I'm back on track.

            Thanks for your help!
