Drowning in duplicate citations - feature request

I found this post which mentioned duplicate citations. But I think it warrants a distinct thread. I do a bit of gedcom importing, particularly from Ancestry. And on every import, sources and citations "breed" like proverbial rabbits. Many of my people have 3, 5, 10, more duplicates of the same source# as citations for the same event. Births and censuses most notably. Every time I open the door there are more.

It surely couldn't be hard to add a tool that would find and delete these critters. Whether a separate tool or an add-on function to the existing Match and Merge Sources. I'm not a coder's bootlace, but I can't imagine it would be a big job. So please please, dear Reunion developers ... .

Meanwhile, if anyone else knows or has discovered a DIY shortcut for mass extermination of these critters, please speak up.
    Regards,
    Lance <
