For Places, I use the town or city or county, not a detailed address like a street or farm, and I believe that's the best way to keep Places manageable and use it more or less as intended. But if I get information -- say, from an Ordnance Survey -- about a street where ancestors lived, and several ancestors lived there, I would like to copy the street description into Reunion, but can't decide where it should go. Don't want to attach as a Note for 1 ancestor, don't want to copy it as a Note to multiple ancestors, and don't want to attach info re multiple streets in the Places record for the town/city. Would really like to know how others record this info in Reunion (assuming they do), thanks so much.

I make all my places as accurate as possible, including street address if I know it.
Once you have a place defined as such, you can then go to the Places side bar, find the place and then enter Notes about it

I don't see that having thousands of places is in any way a hindrance - except perhaps it's more places to Geo Code...
