    Reunion 14 keeps quitting

Reunion 14 keeps quitting on me (same issue keeps reoccurring, and I "fix" it and then it happens again a couple weeks later). There is no crash log or "unexpectedly quit" message), it just looks like it starts to open (with the black dot on the docking panel app), and then the black dot goes away. There is no "unexpectedly quit" message. I keep reading to delete the preferences. Maybe MacOS changed how it stores things but what people are saying to delete the reunion preferences in a specific folder is not there. There is a Library folder, then under the Preferences folder there is NO Reunion folder. I did find a Reunion folder under Library>Application Support>Reunion and under there, there is a folder called "Reunion Preferences". I deleted it. Restarted the computer. Still the same issue. Then I redownloaded Reunion 14 and reinstalled it. Same thing except I got to the screen where it said it has been downloaded from an unknown source and do I want to install it. I say yes. Then it quits (again, no crash log or unexpectedly quit message). I open again, same thing. I delete the "Reunion Preferences" folder. Reinstall again. NOW it works. This happens every few weeks. I don't know if it's just me or what, but it is annoying to have to do this all the time. (I am on a MacBook Pro, 2021 Apple M1 Pro chip, MacOS Sonoma 14.6.1. I am on the latest update (Reunion 14.0 (build 240912). Anyone else having issues like this? I have no issues with ReunionTouch on my iphone even when going through the issues on the laptop, it works fine on ReunionTouch. My family file is on my Dropbox account. Just putting as much info as I can out there in case anyone has any suggestions.

Have you gone to Disk Utility and run First Aid? You could also reinstall the system (You will not loose anything)

I just ran Disk Utility and it supposedly cleaned up some issues (don't know if it has anything to do with the Reunion issues). Reinstalling system will be last resort. But thanks for the advice, and hopefully won't have anymore problems.

You might have a corrupted preference file.. The old fashioned method might cure this... deleting the preferences file in the Library. While the app is fully quit, trash the plist file. Launch the app and it builds a new plist. It's possible that you may need to reset some of your favorite preference options.

File name is "com.leisterpro.reunion14.plist" and the location is Mac HD/Users/YourName/Library/Preferences. Give it a try.

I had this issue a while ago and the only solution for me was the nuclear option... backup everything on my Mac and do a complete reinstall of everything. Only then could I get Reunion starting again. Hopefully you don't have to go this far!!
