    Preferred Picture

    Hi All,
When adding a piece of media to my file, by default it is showing as the preferred picture.
Is there a way to turn this off please?
    Cheers

Uncheck Preferred for that item. Fastest.. Double click the photo and uncheck the Preferred box in the lower left corner.

It is not quite clear what you are asking -- whether to make one picture the preferred versus another picture, or if there is a way to turn the default off.

If the picture that you are adding is the first picture to be added to that list, then, yes, the default is to make that picture the preferred. I don't think that that behavior can be changed. However, if you add the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc. pictures to the list, the preferred item will stay the preferred item until you manually change it (as per what Bob White says above.)

Correct! The box needs to be unchecked for each and every item whether there is just one or there is more. If all items are unchecked, the record reverts to displaying the default male or female silhouette.

Thank you for those answers. I was wanting to untick the "preferred" button so it did'nt appear unless l manually ticked it.
Looks like that is not possible.
          Thanks once again.

I just noticed the change, probably because I have been adding more media to people who have preferred images and no additional media to people for whom I have only an non-preferred gravestone. By Reunion 12 an improvement had been made so that if you unchecked the default preferred status for the first file and then linked another file the program would not make that new file preferred. It took the hint. Now I see that v14 will keep trying to assign the preferred status if none are already so designated. I think this is a step backward - a wish undone.
