    My book or books

I'm getting ready my 30 years of research to provide a Book or books. I have collected as much of the data about all of my relatives that I could. I could be doing more research but I am getting impatient to see what my finished product will look like. Twenty years ago I designed a website and loaded all of our families with their information and reference documents etc. And I thought is was magnificent. However this became a headache by people complaining about things over which I had no control. On top of that many people copied data and photos and I found my relatives in other countries that were way off the mark.
So I thought the next best thing would be a book or books. However a book with all relatives would be super sized. Next I thought of the same book (descendants) broken down into various volumes but I could not work out how to break it up into books that would be more easily handled say 400 pages each. Next I created a descendants book for each of my eight most important families. The snag here is that each of the eight books would carry the same set of descendants. So ten or twenty percent of the book was duplicated in each of the eight books.

If you run your website with software like TNG - https://tngsitebuiling.com/ you can have a LOT of control over who can see and copy what - from wide open for all to see to all closed so only people who have a login can see anything.

My site - https://LisaAndRoger.com/Genealogy/ is open except for details of known living people are suppressed. I am the only person who has a log in for the site to get at the Admin interface

Others run their sites with everyone having to log in to see anything. Others allow those logged in to make changes to the tree - over the whole tree, or just a segment of it that they're allowed to edit.

I think this is preferable to a book as it's a living ever changing "document" that isn't hampered by publication date cutoffs.

Thank you Roger, I deleted the web site nearly twenty years ago and would prefer not to go down that road again. But I will keep you suggestion in mind in case I do.
