    Publication Quality Charts

Is there any way to produce publication quality chart files in a non-Reunion format? I am preparing charts that will be published in another country by non-English speakers who do not use Reunion for publication. The built in routines that convert to graphic files such as JPG and PDF are fine for drafts, but there is quite a loss in image quality from the native format. Any other options?

The jpeg option will definitely degrade the chart quality, but the PDF option should print cleanly. The main reason we don't recommend saving to PDF in the charts we print at HFG is that we can do a better job with margins and ink placement with the native boxchart file (obviously not an issue for you).

Is the image still good when printing directly from Reunion? I ask because sometimes flaws in images are hard to see on screen but pop right out when printed to paper.

Yes, the image printed from the native Reunion box chart file looks fine when printed. I am not sure what resolution Reunion uses to convert to PDF, but I am relatively certain it is not user adjustable. In looking at the Heartland web site, I am guessing it might be best to have you guys print the final charts. When the time comes, I will be in touch.
