This came up on another site, so I thought I would also share here.
You can save yourself some typing in Reunion and other applications using a Text Expansion utility such as ESPANSO. For example, you type :c50 and it expands to 1850 U.S. Census. The website below explains it better and has better examples.
You can create a shortcut for practically anything. Espanso is Free Open Source Software (FOSS). If you really like it, consider an optional donation to the author.
I should add, this can be a little nerdy to install and configure. It's not for the very faint of heart, but with a little reading of the documentation, it's fairly straightforward.
